Local Art in my Home | Charleston Artists

Charleston has so many incredibly talented artists here, it is easy to fill up a house quickly with just a fraction of their art. I’m running out of walls but I just can’t stop! Here is all the local Charleston art I currently have in my home. I hope it inspires you to support your local artists wherever you are.

I don’t have any favorites because I love them all equally so I am going to share them in approximately the order that I got them.

Shop Southern Cities Joggling Board Print

I had been following Sarah’s graphic design/stationary page, Dodeline Design on Instagram for awhile when she actually gifted me the option of one of her new Charleston toile prints probably 3 years ago now. I chose this classic Charleston Joggling Board print. Her other toile designs are Rainbow Row, Whitepoint Gardens and the Ravenel bridge. This print is truly one of my favorites to this day, and I love the frame, too (there are 4 frame options to choose from). Since then, Sarah started an online shop called Shop Southern Cities where you can shop goods celebrating several southern cities, including Charleston of course. Check it out because she is sweet enough to offer y’all 15% off your order with the code “thecharlestonhome"!

Shop Southern Cities House Portrait

I really do love everything Sarah does so much that last Christmas when she released a limited number of house portrait commissions, I had to snag one for our first home! I’ve had so many of these commissioned for clients and finally had to have one for myself. Follow her businesses on Instagram, Dodeline Design and Shop Southern Cities in case she releases more of these this holiday season.

42 Pressed Charleston Gold Foil Map

I had been eyeing this map for YEARS when my friend gave it to me as a gift for my 30th birthday (thanks Kimmy!) There are so many Charleston maps out there and this has always been one of my favorites. The gold foil is such an elegant touch. It’s a custom size so I recommend using her framing service if you like one of the options she offers since custom framing can be pricey. If you want to snag one of these, she offers $10 off to new newsletter subscribers at 42pressed.com.

Gray House Design Pet Portrait

If you don’t have a portrait of your dog, do you even love your dog? The detail of my Luna is so incredible and I will cherish this forever! Luna has been my sidekick for 10 1/2 years. <3

Kayla from Gray House Design only does these pet portraits per special requests now but she has a few other prints you can purchase, plus she and her husband do some very nice carpentry projects. You can check ‘em out here and here.

Abby Murphy prints

I got these prints when I put these shelves up and needed some art to fill them! Abby’s print shop photos are quintessential Charleston and I actually love them all but I choose two pink ones to complement each other in the space. You can snag one of her prints for 15% off when you sign up for her emails via her website!

Urban Garden Prints

These palms, and all their botanical prints are harvested, hand-pressed, designed and printed by the owners here in Charleston. How dang cool is that?! I found them via Instagram a couple years ago and finally pulled the trigger when I was looking for art to go over our bed. They actually told me the best size prints and sets for over a king size bed which was so helpful and the size they suggested is perfect. They have a full style and size guide on their website for beds, fireplaces, living rooms, etc. SO helpful! The ladies are offering you 25% off your print purchase of $75 or more with the code TCH25! I love love love all their botanicals but make sure you check out their coastal and chinoiserie prints too.

Blakely Little

Blakely has been my long-time favorite Charleston artist. I’ve been swooning over her coastal art for probably 8 years now, especially her sailboat pieces like this. I think I really need to add one of her marsh pieces somewhere in my home soon as well. She captures Charleston’s coastal magic so perfectly and I am so proud to have her art in my home!

Cameron Wilder

I’ve been following Cameron on Instagram awhile because I love his photography style and he captures Charleston, especially downtown, so beautifully. This image was actually in his stories and I said to him, you should make this a print! So he added it to his print shop for me. It’s a funny size since it came from an Insta-story so I am still trying to figure out where to put it and if I should frame it or not. Any suggestions welcome :)

Cameron will deliver your print for free if you live locally, with the promo code localpickup. Check out Cameron’s print shop here.

YESAND @ Sightsee Shop

I first visited the Sightsee coffee shop downtown on Line St months ago and this constellation Charleston map caught my eye. I honestly thought about it several times since then and regretted not buying it. I went back to this coffee shop a few weeks ago and asked about it. They didn’t have the Charleston map available for sale in the shop at the moment but they were kind enough to sell me the one straight out of the frame on their wall!

This print is designed by Joel, one of the owners of the coffee shop who also owns a creative studio. I’ve seen all sorts of takes on downtown Charleston maps and I thought this was so unique and fun. Joel has done several other cities, too, by the way. You can shop this print and his others, and a ton of other products in their shop and online here.

PS this is another piece I have yet to frame and place but I wanted to make sure I included it in this list!
